Go over to the "Hot Deals Forum" real quick and see where 300 is on sale for $9.99. The price was probably a mistake so order it while you can at that price!

I am a little apprehensive of this title. I love the movie, I am still going to buy when it comes out but I just feel that warner is going screw us blu-ray supporters without the lube.

At least there a 2 uncompressed Audio tracks on it, so it should be a great listening experience. For the video, i trust Warner on this. Sure it's a HD DVD port with a lowrate VC1-Transfer, but 300 comes from a digital source i think, so even this low encode should look quite good.

I figure I'll see some trusted reviews of the 300's quality in time to cancel my pre-order if that seems the appropriate course.

I think everyone is anticipating this title on blu-ray. My neighbours are going to hate me when I get this movie.
Warner is going to have hell to pay if this movie falls below Picture quality expectations. I want sharp detailed picture and all grain from the original theatrical presentation intact !!! Seems that they will do just fine in the audio department though.

This is just a silly thought. Is any body on here close to having 300 blu-rays?(If that's possible) It would be cool if their 300th blu-ray title was 300!! Yeah I just worked a night shift and I need some serious sleep! lol

From now until 300 releases, there are 25 titles set for release so it is possible. Just buy all of the new releases coming out except for 6 of them and then make 300 your 300th. Of course you would have to have 280 by now to be able to accomplish this level of awesomeness

There aren't two uncompressed tracks but two lossless tracks. An uncompressed LPCM and a compressed TrueHD track according to reports. As for the source, 300 was actually shot on film.

With the BD sharing the same encode as the HD DVD, things aren't looking good for this title. With the two hour run time, TrueHD audio, and pretty much the entire raw footage of the flick in PiP along with a bevy of special features all on one disc, the VC-1 encode looks like it's going to be starved for bits.

regardless of the codec they use....expect alot of grain in this movie...

I personally don't care....but even the bootleg I have has grain all over the place...

I like the sharper resolution..
