Default Best resume of the 2000's?

Who do you think has the best movie resume of the 2000's whether it be an actor or actress?

For me its Christian Bale hands down. Look at the movies he has been in, hardly a dud on there and some great ones as well. The guy gets alot of flack, but his resume is impressive to me...

American Psycho 2000
Reign of Fire 2002
Equilibrium 2002 (underrated gem!)
The Machinist 2004
Batman Begins 2005
Harsh Times 2005
Rescue Dawn 2006
The Prestige 2006
3:10 to Yuma 2007
TDK 2008
T4 2009
Public Enemies 2009 ( haven't seen yet, but looks good....)

Quantity and quality matters!

For some reason, Pixar comes to mind...

Their movies have only gotten better.

I think Russell Crowe has the best resume since 2000. I put "The Insider" on this list because it came out November of 1999. Three Oscar nomiations and of course the win for Gladitor. I just finished watching American Gangster over the weekend which was fantastic. I think Denzell has a strong resume during the 2000's as well, but I think Russell Crowe has him beat. Quality does matter and all of his movies except maybe for "Proof of Life" were great.

State of Play (2009) .... Cal McAffrey
Tenderness (2008/I) .... Detective Cristofuoro
Body of Lies (2008) .... Ed Hoffman
American Gangster (2007) .... Det. Richie Roberts
3:10 to Yuma (2007) .... Ben Wade
A Good Year (2006) .... Max Skinner
Cinderella Man (2005) .... Jim Braddock
Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (2003) .... Capt. Jack
A Beautiful Mind (2001) .... John Nash
Proof of Life (2000) .... Terry Thorne
Gladiator (2000) .... Maximus
The Insider (1999) .... Jeffrey Wigand

Blood Diamond (2006)
The Departed (2006)
The Aviator (2004)
Catch Me If You Can (2002)
Gangs of New York (2002)
Don's Plum (2001) <---wtf is this?? anyone see it?
The Beach (2000/I)

Weird, I put his name into an imdb actor search and nothing came back

crowe & dicaprio are a couple of great choices.. I like Bale's movies slightly more though

I'm going with Tom Cruise. Sure he's nuts but I like almost every movie he's been in since MI2.
Vanilla Sky
Minority Report
The Last Samurai
War of the Worlds
Actually, I didn't like MI3 that much, haven't seen Lions for Lambs or Valkyrie and thought he was obnoxious in Tropic Thunder. But those four movies above are automatic BD purchases for me (when they all include lossless audio).

I know, sorry about that. But come on, few can beat Pixar's resume this decade. Will you accept John Lasseter?

+ 1 on Bale.

The guy is an incredible actor and in these past few years, he has exploded

BTW, my first choice was actually going to be Christopher Nolan, his success began in 2000 with Memento and went through the roof with The Dark Knight but I realized the thread was about actors not directors.

His resume:
- Memento (2000)
- Insomnia (2002)
- Batman Begins (2005)
- The Prestige (2006) - Brilliant thriller
- The Dark Knight (2008)
- Inception (2010) - Looks be shaping up excellent with a cast of talented people such as Leo DiCaprio, Cillian Murphy (hugely under-rated in my book), Joesph Gordon-Levitt and Michael Caine.

Plus, he writes all his own movies and is great at it.

EDIT: Fixed the name of the movie

yes, Tom Cruise's character was supposed to be obnoxious in Tropic Thunder. But Tom Cruise made it especially awful. You could tell he did it just to reconnect with an audience he was losing - regain his hip factor (that he never had in the way he was trying to recoup.) That's why the scenes with him were especially grating. The role would have been handled better by John C Riley or John Voigt.

Two actors/actresses with great resumes of 2000 (and before) and their resume is impressive with terrific variances in their roles and film choices.

Javier Bardem
Penélope Cruz

fixed.

I'd have to say Christian Bale, he's one of the only actors that I'll see a movie just because he's in it, and I can't think of a movie he's been in since 2000 that I didn't like.

- The Insider (2002)
It was Insomnia, not The Insider. Insomnia is also the only one of Nolan's movies that he wasn't a writer on.

I would definitely give the first half of the decade to Crowe, but he hasn't made a movie I've really liked since Cinderella Man.
Bale is the complete opposite for me, I've liked a lot of his movies since 2005 but the only one of his earlier movies I liked was American Psycho. I'm also not a huge fan of Bale as an actor. I was always annoyed by the voice he uses as Batman. I don't get why he has to make his voice so low and not just use the voice he uses as Bruce Wayne. I also didn't think he was great in Terminator.

I always wonder why an actor as successful as Morgan Freeman would take so many crappy roles. He couldn't possibly need the money but when you look at the list of movies at least half had to be purely for the paycheck. Maybe he just gets really bored when he's not working.
