I imagine there might be a few hold outs here still viewing analog TV SOMEWHERE in their home.
Though I bought my HDTV in 2003, it wasn't until some time later that I bought the HD tuner. Even then, only received a couple of stations in HD. When I changed the antenna weeks after that, I received a few more digital channels. Simply put, I adopted so early I couldn't get all the stations in digital as they didn't all broadcast yet. About 2004 to 2005 that changed, but I still had analog in my room. I mention this alot, but my brother generously gave me a 26" Visio HDTV for my bedroom in October of 2007. That marked my official end of having to view analog anthing. Oddly, I miss the opportunity I would have had with my new DVD/VHS. It has a digital tuner and would like to have seen that work on the old tv. So, who's holding out, and who is all digital? Last edited by tron3; 02-08-2008 at 03:06 PM. |

I've got an old school 19" Sharp in the bedroom (who hasn't had a 19" Sharp? Literally everyone I know has owned a 19" Sharp at some point in their lives) . . . probably get a LCD at some point, but all we really watch on it is Friends and other TV shows while we're falling asleep. I got my first HDTV in 2001 . . . 56" Toshiba. Had some issues with that sucker . . .

I have basic cable, and I still have analog television. I have only lost 1 channel to digital so far (HBO which happens to be my favorite channel), although I know that we will have to switch to digital soon, haha.

Until the TVs die, every new TV I buy will not be analog, but I can keep moving the old TV's into other less used rooms, just need those converter boxes.
It will be interesting to see if companies other than Dish offer a HDTV package only, as almost every new TV is a HDTV. I thought about it and it would be nice but due to TNT and TBS and a few other channels that distort 4:3 content I would still need the non HD channel, unless those stations get there act together and show everything properly. |

I have still have two analog TVs in my house. One TV is reserved in the guest bedroom, suffering exile with my PlayStation 2 and Wii. The other is in the family room. My HDTV and the rest of my HT/high def gear is all in my bedroom.

Still have one analog TV in use. 27'' Sony in my son's room. He is 12 and wants to go HD, my wife blames me for this (she's most likely right). She says the TV works and he as a better set up then his friends, as he get my old stuff. So it could be awhile before that goes away.
Re-did my wife's workout room for Christmas replacing the old tube TV with a small flat screen and mounted to the wall, so she has more room. Added a bunch of mirrors to the walls, made her very happy. Now we just have to copy all of her old VHS workouts to DVD and we'll be set |

While I only have HDTVs, I'm still using analog cable and still have DVD/VHS recorders connected to the systems. At the moment, I'm getting the HD broadcasts OTA. I really hate the thought of having to get a cable box so that's why I haven't gone to digital cable for SD/HD programming yet. Not to mention, I don't like the thought of giving the cable company even more money than I already do. I've been seriously considering it lately though. I'd love to have ESPN in HD and with the NFL only showing some games on the NFL network, I'd like to have that channel as well.
