Isn't it funny how in the movie Superman: Doomsday,
[Show spoiler]Superman kills Doomsday in like the first 20 minutes? Then the rest is Superman vs himself, essentially.

It depends on the era. If we're talking Silver Age...no doubt it's Superman. The guy could move planets and blow out suns like a birthday candle.

Superman could probably pull a Flash and vibrate to another time period or dimensions or something.

If we are talking superheroes that appeared in movies, then it's cosmic entity level powers aka it can pretty much only be between The Silver Surfer and Phoenix (arguably she was a vilain and went straight from Jean Grey to Dark Phoenix, but she started as a Superhero).
I guess that Green Lantern might be next in line (although Human Torch is supposed to be able to go Nova).

Green Lantern vs Thor = Thor. He is a god.

Superman- assuming you have time to gather some kryptonite- he is done.

Thor vs Hulk -----not sure

Galactus or
Dr. Manhatten or maybe
Thanos - I bet we get to see him and the Hulk go toe to toe this decade

Sups as a distant 4th since his weakness and strength are completely conditional on him being near a yellow sun and with sufficient distance from his native planet

This is an interesting and good thread. My wife always says to me when she sees some big strong movie creature "Can he take the Hulk." I don't ever remember saying yes. In the comics the Hulk was a unmanageable brute. In a recently done Marvel animated Avengers movie the Hulk mopped up the floor with the Avengers. For raw power he would be hard for anyone to stop.

Hmm I wonder how Hulk would do against the Cloverfield monster?

We have a winner Seriously, Manhattan could probably take on any other hero and win.

Phoenix would also be a serious contender. And Thor shouldn't be discounted either.

As big and deadly as Hulk is, remember he's a man -- all someone would have to do would be to wait until he's a normal man and shoot him in the face. No number of Hulk smashes is gonna change that. As far as I'm aware he isn't indestructible as a mortal.

While not a superhero, Living Tribunal could easily beat everyone. It has unlimited power and is pretty much the strongest thing in the whole Marvel universe (apart from One-Above-All).

"Bruce Banner: In case you needed to kill me, but you can't! I know! I tried!... I got low. I didn't see an end, so I put a bullet in my mouth... and the other guy spit it out! So I moved on. I focused on helping other people. I was good, until you dragged me back into this freak show and put everyone here at risk!"

From the Avengers.
