I'll run in the wireless password and update.

Ha! That fixed it. Mr. tech geek here, foiled by the equivalent of "did you reboot it?" That's what I get for being lazy.

Saw this in 3d for the first time in probably over two years. The 3d is simply sublime and up their with the very best. I hope frozen is as good (3d blu-ray is on the way). Side note: I did find frozen to have the better music, but Tangled to be the better film.

Frozen 3d is just great, I'm sure you will enjoy it.

You inspired me to put on Tangled probably after 2 years too, and it's really good, but the music is nowhere as good as Frozen like you were saying. But the 3d is top notch as well as the animation.

Good to hear, in 2d it was clear the film was framed for 3d (excluding the first shoot of the saw going through the ice their where no obvious pop outs though).

On the topic of animation, tangled's animation was also better then in Frozen (not that Frozen is bad, just that Tangled was on the same level as Pixar which is more or less the only time another company has been competitive in that regard to my eyes). I guess that's one thing a $250+ million budget gets apposed to a $150 million that Frozen had.

Wow I had no idea of the difference in budgets! That really is huge.

Tangled's enormous budget is primarily the result of it's long and complicated development journey. The original vision was for traditional cel animation. When the the studio insisted on CG, the team was determined to make the computer rendered art mimic classic Disney. The result is stunningly beautiful(yes...a notch above Frozen)but cost quite a bit of money.

Totally worth it though. My favorite Disney animation ever...period.

I prefer Tangled, thought there was more humor in it compared to frozen which seems to get a bit serious, the horse stole the show in tangled.

I enjoyed the film, but I didn't care much for the hazy, pastel coloured look of Tangled. I think Frozen, which was influenced by the Technicolor films of legendary cinematographer Jack Cardiff, looks far more beautiful, especially in 3D.

Well "hazy" is the last word I would use to describe Tangled's art, but I won't argue a matter of personal preference. I happen to think Frozen 3D is quite beautiful too. Just not as fluid and expressive in it's animation. It's great that Disney is still producing projects at such a high level of quality, where debate like this can even happen.

Agreed, yet amusingly enough the end of Tangled has more punch
[Show spoiler]in particular the scene where her hair is cut.
I think this is largely the better animation allowing for it easier to be sucked into what is happening more (as the development was minimal like more or less all disney films).

It was the meeting point of two generations of animation talent. Wreck it Ralph has some pretty great character animation as well because they had 2D animators do a lot of pre-viz motion tests by hand. Frozen is still wonderful but the animation isn't as natural, Disney had fired their old guard 2D animators by this point. BTW I'm talking about the animation and not the art direction, but I still think Tangled is better in that department as well.
Frozen in both animation and art design felt more dreamworks then disney to me. Albeit done to a higher quality then more or less all the Dreamworks films. I wouldn't say Tangled was better then what Pixar does though, they seem to be on par with one another.

I was hugely disappointed in Frozen after all the raves it got, I thought Tangled was a million times better film.

I liked both. I liked Tangled's story more than Frozen...but I like Frozen's music better than Tangled.

I thought Frozen was amazing and I loved Tangled. I thought Frozen was better because the humor was forced and in your face, but Tangled, I felt like it was. I also really love Anna in Frozen.

There are quite a few things I liked about Frozen, but the main character wasn't one of them. Tangled took me completely by surprise in how relatable and likeable the main character was, and in general, it's just a helluva lot more fun than Frozen.

Love Tangled and Brave. Frozen is way overrated imo.

A very good film, just not as good as one would expect from Pixar after films like Up and Ratatouille. It fells far more like a disney film then a pixar film.
