Australia It's A Wonderful Life - JB Exlusive

Purchased this yesterday at JB and have noticed that the blurb on the back specifically mentions the colorized version. Does anybody know if this disc also has the original black and white version on it? Not a fan of colorized versions of classic movies like this.

Thanks Guys

Yeah I would. but i'll want to return it if it is indeed just the colorized version and as far as I know you can't return opened items to JB.

The US release by Paramount has 2 discs. One with colour, one B&W. If ours only has one and it mentions colour I'm guessing your question is answered and you're in for a return.

Turn the color off if you prefer B&W

There is a 2 disc 70th anniversary edition coming out on the 2nd of November. The JB site states disc 1 has the original B&W version and the second disc has the colourised version.

Of course there is, given I've just bought the one-disc edition.

(I actually like the look of the colourised version -- for a novelty -- but I would have preferred the b&w.)

Strange that they should afford the video such ample bitrate when they compressed all the audio with DD.

^ So it is the same disc of the film that has been available in its original form for a while in many other territories. That's disappointing, a couple months ago Robert Harris mentioned that the 70th anniversary edition would get a new transfer from Paramount. Maybe the 75th or possibly 80th anniversary will get the lossless audio
