Default Pay Pal question

I want to get a couple of movies from a member here, but I'm ignorant about paypal.... I have an account since 2002, here's what I know....

1) my account is verified with a checking/savings account number

2) it's verified with my Credit-Card

3) it doesn't have enough funds..... since I haven't used it since 2002 apparently...

My question is... I need to transfer over the money, so I can send him payment for my movies, but it says electronic transfer takes 3-5 days (I've already submitted it to begin the process) SO, do I just click "send payment" now, or do I have to wait until my account shows the money I transfered over to cover the cost of the payment??????

If I can just send him payment, I'd rather just do it now, as the sooner I can transfer him money, the sooner I can get my movies shipped

Also, since my account is confirmed with a Credit Card, if the payment doesn't hit in time, will they just charge my Credit card??? either way is fine by me really.

Thanks for the help, I have never purchased stuff in this manner before

You don't have to move funds from your bank account into your Paypal account. Just pay with Paypal and the transaction is completed instantly, without having to wait the 3-5 days. Just click "send payment now" and you're good to go.

3-5 days sounds like Paypal's latest wrinkle, echeck. Assuming your account info is current, including the expiration date of the credit card you have on file, Paypal should give you the option to do an instant transfer from your banking account vs. echeck.

I have a question myself, how does Pay Pal actually work? I've never used one before.

Just sent payment, it automatically transfered from my checking, to paypal, to the recipient..... so since I already transfered the cash manually, will I have a balance in my paypal I need to use????? sounds like a good excuse to buy some more movies!

You set up an account with Paypal, which allows you to pay people who accept it via instantaneous transfer of funds from your checking/savings account to the recipient's Paypal account. Alternatively, you can pay by credit card by allowing Paypal to charge a credit card you have on file with them. If you eBay, it's the only way to fly.

or you could transfer the money back into your bank account. Remember that big mortgage you just acquired?

SHHHHHHHHHHH the wife doesn't know about these recent purchases

By the way.... went to the Housing Dept. today, and signed an affidavit to accept the home with it's code violations (needs a hand-rail going to the third floor, couple switch covers, etc.... nothing major)

should close this deal in a few days! (now where is that dancing banana when you need it )

Alright, thanks for the info. And no, I don't eBay so I guess I wouldn't need it.

Basically transferring money, the 3-5 days is just to make sure the funds are there, I would go ahead and sen the money, most people don't mind(I don't) as long as you understand why there was a delay in shipping

just use a credit/debit card unless you are trying to avoid fees

If you chose bank transfer, the only way it will hit the credit card is if there are insufficient funds in the account
