I am a terrible procrastinator, as I have had my BenQ W1070 projector for a few months now and have finally permanently mounted the projector to the ceiling. Had a buddy from work come over and give me a hand. Here are some pics of the finished product.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() here is a [terrible] pic of the projector image around my 50" plasma... ![]() We were not able to install the pull down screen as my ceiling joists were too far away from the wall for the screen to hang so another day we will be rectifying this. It was late and did not have proper supplies for the fix. ![]() |

Thanks guys, the room lighting isnt the best for the pics so its nicer in person.
I have to say, it was not too difficult. I think the hardest part was getting the courage to cut a hole in the ceiling! ![]() Starting to get some crappy weather here in VA, but Im hoping to have the screen up by the end of the week, more pics to follow! Also I wanted to mention I used a 30ft Redmere cable in the wall/ceiling connected between the hdmi wall plates. I was not sure if it would work being connected to extenders/adapters as I could not find any real info explaining this, but it works fine. ![]() |

Here are some pics of my manual pull down screen.
I will say the screen works and looks fine, and for the money not too shabby. But after originally projecting onto a wall, I prefer that much better. Being my projector is mounted pretty close to the roof, I end up having to use some keystone adjustment which still places overall screen a tad higher than I would have liked, but it works. Not sure if this is common for pull down screens but the sides are slightly bowed inwards which I assume is just because its new and not had time to fully flatten out. anyways, here's pics of my screen put up. I will say I love the huge picture...trumps my 50" plasma any day. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() [battlefield 2] . |

Well, the cracked up heads are in hog heaven now. Lookin' good man.
![]() On another note if you need to lower your screen you can get some black chain from the hardware store and adjust the height of your screen by how many links you use. Here is my living room screen. ![]() Last edited by bguzman; 11-22-2014 at 11:10 PM. |
