I'm okay with the current dash... but I am curious to see what improvements they could make to it. I don't see it being as drastic a change as the original 360 blades to the NXE dashboard, but it would be nice to see them iterate on it a little more. The system has already evolved quite a bit in the first year, so I can't wait to see where it ends up.

I wish they had it like Windows Phone and Win8 where you can choose tile sizes yourself. If they implement that, it would be awesome. I also kinda' wish they would do live tiles that update with info for apps.

That's great news if it means they're ditching the metro style interface. I just recently had to buy another computer and decided to bite the bullet and get a Windows 8.1 computer and man, what a joke. There is no way they did any user feedback type testing with that interface. It's just very unintuitive and hard to use although not quite as bad on the XB1 (still would prefer pretty much anything other than metro though -- can it really get any worse?).
On a related note, Classic Shell (http://www.classicshell.net) has been a godsend for the new PC I had to get. I was about ready to wipe the system clean and install Win7 but it has made win8.1 tolerable. Still, I hate to support MS for such an asinine interface but for now, I guess 8.1 will stay installed. BTW, I use to defend MS left and right because I liked their products but they have lost their way. From the changes to Office, Outlook, and Windows, I really have to wonder who the heck is running the company. I very much dislike Apple and almost bought an Apple computer this time around because MS is just pissing me off left and right. Seriously, what are they thinking??!! Anyway, please let the update be something more sane and reasonable. |

My guess is it will be a match to Windows 10 which is supposed to be going back to basics for Windows OS.
I agree, I like the titles but I could due with less of them or even an option that lets me decide what tiles I want to keep and which I don't. |

Ummmmm, no it's not. It's Windows 8.1 with some tweaks. It's not like they're jettisoning the tiles/touch interface. They're simply making the divide between Metro and the Desktop smaller.

I do think decreasing the gap between the two different interfaces would be good though. The current situation, at least with Windows, it laughable. The interface on the XB1 is slightly annoying but not nearly as much as it is on Windows. The XB1 is much more consistent and easier to understand. I really think they're making a big mistake trying to force the same UI across very different hardware (or at least hardware with very different purposes) though. Kind of the same situation for both. With Windows 8 they tried to Frankenstein touch and mouse interfaces together. It didn't work. With the X1 they tried to cobble an interface that works via both Kinect/speech and d-pad with neither really being better than the other. The Kinect works best when speaking in the unnatural 'Kinect voice' and the dpad way has way to many presses and sub menus. Now that they got rid of Kinect the ui is in a state of being 'fixed' to work best without the voice but it's still needlessly menu, sub menu and more menu heavy.
That and my God am I sick of apps constantly crashing or buffering. I have no issue with the same apps on PS3 or 4 and all systems are hardwired. So frustrating. I do love the recent Twitch update though. |

I would have to see the UI in action. Is the 2nd pick the new home screen?

![]() If I had it my way I would keep the Pins, Home screen and copy Sony's PSN storefront. I would really love if they brought the 360's mini blades (the ones when you hit the guide button), instead of the current snap feature. Last edited by leburn98; 06-18-2015 at 08:14 PM. |

Completely agree with this. I actually really like the PSN storefront. The problem I have with the Xbox One storefront is that I can never find DLC for certain games. I go to Add-Ons and they're not there. Then I look up the game and navigate here and there and finally after 20 minutes I find what I'm looking for. It shouldn't be that hard to keep certain DLC's together.
