Received my copy on Saturday from CG, haven't watched it yet though.

the blu of this is fantastic, watched the other night. However, it's not a good blind buy if you're not a fan of Tsai Ming-liang or slow cinema.

Stray Dogs Blu-ray REVIEW

I have been following very closely Tsai Ming-liang's work during the years and have managed to get all but one of his feature films in my library. Next to Leos Carax, he is without a doubt one of the most unique voices of World Cinema. If Stray Dogs really turns out to be his final feature film, the loss will be immense.

Cinema Guild's release: First, the distributors deserve a ton of credit for releasing this film on Blu-ray in the United States. The fact that none of Tsai's previous films are available to see on Blu-ray here is hugely disappointing. I liked Stray Dogs, it is very unique, but I specifically would like to mention how great the filmed session at Cinematheque Francaise is. If you are interested in Tsai's work -- or contemporary Asian cinema for that matter -- this is a must-own release.

On a related note: These are some of my favorite Tsai films. Now that Rebels of the Neon God has been restored -- we must have it on Blu-ray -- it would be special if someone also picked up these. The Wayward Cloud is about as brilliant of a film as they come. Face is stunning to look at.

By the way, In France Arte has a very good master for Good Bye, Dragon Inn. (Lovely DVD release)
