Short, wtf?

Most everything else is spot-on, although I didn't think I had that many holiday and dark humor films. I am surprised that new wave or anything similar doesn't come up as underrepresented, and I could certainly use more music.

Seems accurate. The only thing that surprises me is film-noir being overrepresented

Meh, why should I buy films I do not enjoy just because BD.com seems to think I should own genres I don't like.

Well, quite. There's a reason certain genres are "strongly underrepresented" in my collection - because they don't really do anything for me. It's expensive enough with the ones that do!

I feel the same way. I have no desire to buy any anime or documentary titles, for instance, simply because they're "underrepresented" in my collection.

I do think that it's cool to see that film noir is "strongly overrepresented" in my collection, though. Truth be told, I still want more film noir in my collection, and I always will.

Wish I could add them too (got around 300 titles, maybe more).

Otherwise, even if I think my personal genre categorization is slightly more accurate (Sci-Fi should be 1st and Horror should come just after), I'm quite okay with the relative genre distribution results.

My sentiments exactly. I'm so glad you guys said this. For this, you are both cool in my book.

Edit: What the heck qualifies as erotic on this site anyway? The last I checked no porn is represented here. Though there are some R and NC-17 rated movies that come awfully close.

Well, technically you and I have tons of Documentaries in our collection, if one wants to count all those lovely supplements on the Criterion discs.

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/movies.php?genre=Erotic - apparently these titles all count. Slightly confused by a few of them to be honest.

If my collection were to encompass my DVD collection (or what I've uploaded thus far at least as so many are still missing), I think there will be some more variance.

Oh. Thanks. Yeah, most of my DVDs are gone and upgraded to Blu. The only time I buy a DVD anymore is if the movie isn't available on Blu. I've held onto a few of my old Disney DVDs for sentimental reasons and they have some features that have been dropped from their respective Blu releases for whatever insane no good reason. I still have my King Kong 2005 EE DVD as well for that reason. Why they didn't bring that incredible documentary to the Blu is simply beyond me. Oh well, que sera sera.

I've been slow to upgrade as there are newer films I'd rather see first. Also, a few upgrades I've kept have been due to the special features not being included on the BD, i.e. Casino Royale 1967.

I wouldn't really consider AHS erotic at all, but BD.com considers the show erotic. Huh.
