No one has any info/opinion on the best place to order these from. I've figured out that these are expensive everywhere, so now I'm just trying to find somewhere that has decent shipping charges to Canada...wish our dollar was doing better

The few that I have I've gotten from Amazon.de. To be honest I am comfortable ordering from them now since the costumer service is good/decent. I have not tried ordering from other sites but the ones I've checked out always seem to have the same expensive prices (or pretty close to them).

Medienversand is very reliable.

I think DTM has stopped shipping abroad or at least last time I tried ordering something prevented from doing it.

I've barely begun collecting these and am already addicted to them . I don't buy them for the Blu-ray (or DVD) picture quality as I know many of them are barely above average in that department but most of the ones I have bought were from ebay. A few were from Diabolik and one or 2 from amazon.de marketplace sellers. NONE have been cheap . In fact I don't think I've paid less than $40 for a single one. I've got (from NSM and other labels):

Amok Train
House By the Cemetery Cover C (US Theatrical poster art)
The Beyond (Covers A & B)
Witchcraft aka Witchery
Don't Open til Christmas
Re-Animator
Bride of Re-Animator
Dellamorte Dellamore (from '84 Entertainment)
Four Flies On Grey Velvet
Invaders From Mars
Firewalker
Stone Cold
Trick or Treat (1986)

I understand Seven Notes In Black aka The Psychic is supposed to come out soon, which I want badly.

I know what you mean about "already addicted" lol...these things look amazing! and there are quite a few i want, but trying to find a deal is like looking for a needle in a haystack! ive been using chrome and searching google.de, google.co.uk, amazon germany, uk, france, italy, spain and ebay germany/uk, and also a bunch of austrian sites, to be honest its been a little exhausting lol. and to boot, during my searches ive also discovered blu ray hardboxs, which also look really cool, and i was able to get a hold of the Return Of The Living Dead 3 hardbox (which is one of my most favourite horror films) for $19.99 GBP, so im super excited to get that! its really too bad that all the sites that offer these releases have crazy expensive shipping (with the exception of amazon uk, and amazon de isnt too bad). it also doesnt help that the Canadian dollar is pretty low right now, oh well...the search continues!

Keep in mind that DTM.at and medienhandel.at cap their shipping costs at E27.00, which means if you place a large order and get everything you want all at once, the shipping will cap at E27.00 regardless.

It's 10€ within Europe so I'm not surprised they take 27€ to Canada. Still it's incredibly expensive. Good thing with Medienversand is you can get your order within 2 working days.

Rates from the States to Europe have gone crazy as well. Now if you want just one disc from ebay will cost like $20 minimum from most vendors...

I ship discs from the USA to Europe pretty frequently and it is usually around $13 (for USPS First Class Package International and that includes full insurance). If people are getting charged $20+ they are either buying very heavy discs or are getting ripped off (unless the seller is only offering USPS Priority Mail Interational shipping, which is more expensive).

Im gonna go with getting "ripped off"...27 euro is a crazy amount for 1 disc...its almost $50 Canadian just for shipping. it also sucks that there are no cult/import distributers in Canada (that i can find anyways) like Diabolikdvd in the USA. i dont mind paying $40+ for a movie i really want but when you add on a big shipping expense and then have currency conversion on top of that it really really sucks.

I want to contact DTM about adding an item to an order. Does anyone know if they have customer service in English or would I have to email them in German?

Edit: Wrote it in English as the order confirmation and "welcome" emails were both in English.

Here is another site with a decent selection of mediabooks and quite reasonable shipping costs from what I remember:

http://www.sinart.asso.fr/index.php?&lang=lang2

I typically try to order from Diabolik being in the U.S. I've used Dtm as well, but their shipping cost has gone quite high. I used this site once with exemplary results. Shipping was very fast, communication was outstanding (the nicest, most polite customer service ever) and the packaging far exceeded most places I've bought from. This site gets a very high recommendation. Sorry I don't remember quite what they charged for shipping though.

You're not gonna get these cheap anywhere. The best you can do is order a bunch at a time from one site.
