I got mine for the Denver IMAX on July 15th at 9:45pm. I was the 6th ticket out of 200 available.

There are a few sites that will send you notices and offer you free screenings. I cant think of them off the top of my head though. I think Fatwallet has an ongoing thread with notifications on free screenings though...

Actually, the only one left with tickets is Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. All the others are sold out.

Well there were just 4 other cities - I just got one for Denver and it showed 3 other cities w/ that a few minutes ago - those went fast

Huh? They must have added more tickets cause they were all sold out a while ago.

Very fast. Though some cities (like mine) they showed they were out after the first hundred or so were gone and weren't accepting more orders, then suddenly opened it back up for the rest of the tickets. Who knows what they have going on.
