I have narrowed down my search to 2 Samsungs, the LN40A650 or the LN40A550. I haven't quite decided whether I want a 40" or 46", but I was wondering which TV would be the better deal for the price. I can get the these TVs for the following prices:
40" 550: $1137 46" 550: $1425 40" 650: $1394 46" 650: $1715 I am on a budget though, and the 46" 650 is somewhat out of my price range at the moment. However, if it is truly worth it and is much better than the 550, I am willing to save up some more for it.. Any thoughts as to what I should do? Geez, Crackin. You are the last person I expected to see jump in a thread where a person says, "I have done research and narrowed it down to A & B, which do you think?" Then you say, "Choose C!!!"
Based on the OP, I would save for the 650 for the better contrast ratio and the 120hz refresh rate. |

![]() But seriously, I had did what I thought was research, and if Crackin had not stepped in I would be the proud owner of a 299.00 HTIB and a Visio (sp?) Granted, the OP prolly isnt as tech ignorant as I was, and seems to have a good idea of what he wants, but crackin's good people, just trying to help. ![]() |

I really dont know much about the fetures on those models, so I'm not the most qualified to answer. However,I was on a budget and had to save as well, and I think the size difference alone (if everything else being equal) is worth the 300.00. You'll have that tv a long time,so if you need to save up a little while longer, then I think you should.
You dont want to get 6 months down the road and say "dam I should have got the bigger one." |

![]() ![]() Of course you should get the 46" I have two-footitis. Example: When I bought my 16 foot bass boat, I wanted an 18 footer. When I brought home my 65" Toshiba, I wanted the 80" Mitsubishi! Whatever you think is just right or too big for your room, think again. Buy as big as you can depending on the size of your wallet/pocket book. I'm off my soap box ![]() |
