Frank Capra's A Hole in the Head (1959), starring Frank Sinatra, and Edward G. Robinson will be released on Blu-ray on January 27th, courtesy of Olive Films

This comedy-drama finds Tony (Frank Sinatra) the proprioter of a Miami Beach hotel. A widower with a young son, he asks his rich older brother Mario (Edward G.Robinson) for money to help keep the business going. Mario and his wife travel from New York to Miami. Convinced Tony is an idle dreamer, Mario plans to gain custody of his nephew. His plans change when he conspires to set Tony up with a wealthy widow (Elanor Parker).

I remember hearing (probably from a Frank Capra interview) that Sinatra was usually best on the first take and got progressively worse if more takes were done. Robinson got better with each take. I don't remember how Capra dealt with this. Maybe have Robinson play the scene with a stand-in a few times without the camera rolling??
