I think my Hammer boxset from JB took less than 2 weeks and I also ordered from their Buy 2 Get One Free promotion earlier this year . 2 of the items were not in stock so they sent all 3 by separate packages . Talk about spending too much on postage . They also took about 10 days IIRC. The most annoying delay I find with JB is the gap between placing the order and it actually being shipped even if its in stock . They certainly don't ship within 24 hours as other companies do |

Picked up a copy of this 6 disc blu-ray collection today at JB HIFI Macquarie Center North Ryde for $28.00 (20% off sale price). Still 8 left on shelf when I left at 2.30pm.
It was the standard blu-ray case version with cardboard slip cover as mentioned earlier in this thread. Having never seen the last movie. This is a good deal at $5.60 per movie. Last edited by g12345567; 11-30-2014 at 03:38 AM. |

It would be useful if they had some kind of online checker to see the status of your order. Sitting there for a week on PROCESSING isn't much help |

Ordered on the 24th , arrived in the UK today . All 5 movies in a box that usually fits only one disc.
Watched Die Hard today and it seems to be the exact same disc as the previous Oz release bereft of many of the bonus features included on the 2 disc dvd versions. |

Today I got a demand in the post from DHL for £15 customs for The Vincent Price Collection 2 (Shout USA). Standard thing - but even when I ordered that massive over a foot tall special dvd boxset of Charmed I got no customs either. As the Die Hard set is so small its discreetly mailed in a standard mailer so I doubt it will encounter any customs problems. I've only looked at Disc 1 but the main case states that Die Hard 4 and 5 both contain harder cuts and I have no reason to disbelieve it. I will check it out soon . But I won't be watching either of those for a while so I'll only be able to note what I'm expecting to be a simple menu choice to choose either version. The case etc looks the same as the UK one except that in the list of films it states Harder Cut for both 4 and 5. As the harder cuts were classified by the BBFC and released on dvd you have to wonder why Fox UK missed this opportunity. |

well yours really is fast & well packed, I had pretty much the opposite experience from you, I was going to let my experience "slide" but after reading your post I had to vent my unhappiness. ordered on 15th, shipped on 24th, arrived on 4th Dec, so nearly 10 days transit time, it was packaged in 1 relatively thin bubble envelope unlike your doubled bagged, and they declared the full value of $28, and the "X" was put just outside the "Gift" box on the declaration form so it was not totally clear, maybe that's why it got through Customs unscathed. so when I opened the envelope, straight away very strangely I can see the papercover/insert was upside down! first time I've received any bluray like that, must be a factory fault? but not a big deal I can take the cover out and put it back in the right way up. Then had the boxset in my hand, shaked it a little and straight away can hear a small rattle sound, so knew something is loose/broken, opened the shrinkwrap, and no surprise a small "clip" was broken, so the case won't /can't close properly, but because the boxset comes in a slipcase, it still looks "ok" standing on the shelf, but definitely not good as it'll be very difficult to get an exact same aussie style replacement case, obviously I can use superglue to glue the clip back in but worry it can get very messy and the smell and the chemicals might affect the discs? also I notice none of the 6 discs are in perfect condition(i.e. clean, no marks), all of my 6 discs have some sort of marks/imperfections, either thin "scratch looking" lines, small "foggy" patches, 1 disc even looks like it might have a tiny fingerprint, but the worse was the Decoding Die Hard disc, near the centre circle there's an inch long circular scratch line, proper scratch which looks like can't be cleaned off. This is the first BD boxset I've imported from Aus, so I wonder is this the norm? because my UK boxsets usually comes with perfectly clean discs. BDs unlike DVDs, are quite resistant to scratches so the fact that nearly all of the discs have scratch lines, they must have been handled quite roughly in the factory? also HornyRhino" looking at your photo your copy seems to have a different type of shrinkwrap compared to my copy, mine is the "proper" but cheap looking "heat shrinkwrap", whereas yours looks to be the better, so called "cigarette packet" shrinkwrap? I wonder if it's different batches manufactured at different times so different condition boxsets? I've received re-sealed "heat shrinkwrap" items from UK sellers before (which looks rougher & less professional), but this DH boxset looks to be proper original manufacturer heat shrinkwrap (like what Universal/Paramount uses), the slipcase, plastic case and even the discs, they all look and feel clean/pristine (except that there are some surface marks on the discs), but I don't think mine is a 2nd hand copy? also for the past week(during the 20% sale) I've been emailing back and forth with JBHIFI, trying to get them to fix the international postage no-discount fault, but still no luck, it takes them 1 to 2 days to reply to emails (and each time seems to be a different CS rep), after 3 emails finally ended with the same response as another member posted before, which was to buy the BDs first, pay the "Full" postage price shown online, then once they've shipped, they can "negotiate" the difference in shipping costs and may be able to do a refund, what a load of hassle, why can't they just fix their website? it was working perfectly fine before the redesign. I wonder what happens if I try to get a replacement for this DH boxset, probably even more hassle, due to the long distance and costs... Last edited by No1_Dave; 12-10-2014 at 02:53 AM. Reason: . |

what i find is some heat wrapped products can be seconds as amazon 3rd parties get amazon to heats hrink products when selling 2nd hand.
i think the stuff i got the 'cigarette wrapper' as you say is the default manufacturer retail material so if you didn't get that id say its seconds...my disks were all untouched brand new.. i never got any customs charge thanks to the gift option even though they wrote $27 as the value that worked out a £15.90 by my calculation...so i think i got away with it. i think going by what you said you maybe were just unlucky and as someone said earlier they ship from shop stock and not from a warehouse or distribution site, if its not in stock they order from another store so for you maybe they just picked up a return copy lying around and used that.. for me i will give them a go again..good luck on your next purchase if you decide to again. just seen your UPDATE...... what do you mean bug on postage? what was your costs then? mine was item: $27.98(£15.90) + $12.80 (£7.72)?? 7.72 seems reasonable from Australia as they are usually more expensive for shipping from there... also id see if you get it replaced and see if they will pay for return shipping? tell them it was heat shrinked wrapper and not the confirmed manufacturer's Retail thinner plastic wrapper... as to the waiting and constant emails i understand your pain as i go through that every time i get damaged steel-books @Zavvi ![]() ![]() Last edited by HornyRhino"; 12-10-2014 at 03:07 AM. |

so are all 6 of your discs in perfectly clean/no marks condition? if yes then I'm seriously wanting to get a replacement, the broken clip of the plastic case is bad, but I'm more unhappy about the condition of the discs tbh, but it's just weird the same boxset from the same retailer purchased within a month of eachother can have 2 different types of shrinkwraps, I would have thought they're all the same batch by now, but this heat shrinkwrap defintely looks professionally done, I still have many unopened steelbooks, boxsets etc(from various different studios) sitting on my shelf with heat shrinkwrap (my 2 UK DH boxsets sitting on the shelf right now comes in the heatshrinkwrap), so from personally experience at least, heat shrinkwrap doesn't automatically = re-seal/2nd hand, several studios (most obvious is Universal who nearly always use heat shrinkwrap), but it would be very bad luck/annoying if I got a re-sealed DH Aus copy. but yeah definitely prefer the "folded/cig packet" type shrinkwrap, like the ones they always use for video games (with tear strip as well), more difficult to imitate/copy, whereas the regular heat shrinkwrap is often used to re-seal 2nd hand stuff. all my discs were untouched i checked them just now ...mint condition.
i know what you mean by the heat wrap on steels and retail box-sets but even so i think you got a reseal...id try your luck at getting replacement and tell them it should have been in manufacturers plastic wrapping not heat shrink plastic like what you got. tell them it was a seconds resealed because the scratches and fingermarks wouldn't come from a retail sealed boxset. |

![]() ![]() BTW HornyRhino" is it possible for you to upload a few more photos showing clearly the folding/cig packet type shrinkwrap of your copy? might need to show JBhifi customer service some photos showing the "original" shrinkwrap vs the heat shrinkwrap/possible re-seal of the copy I received, cheers.
