Just received blu ray with a really nice slipcover. Within a day or two, it had separated on the side where the glue holds it together. Is there a glue that could be recommended that would be good to use and not make a mess, as I do not want glue all over the case?

On my MI:Ghost Protocol slip from Best Buy which was notorious for this, I actually used my fiancee's nail glue. I brushed the surface opposite the title and slid the blu between both sides and squeezed it as tight as I could folding the title over the exposed seam. Held it down for a minute or two and seems to be fine to this day. The nail glue especially helped because it obviously has a brush that you can use to apply it without having to squeeze stuff everywhere.

I just used Elmer's Wood glue, I'm sure white school glue would work as well.
I avoid nail glue because it is basically super glue. You can use it but make sure you set the seam right and quick or else you'll mess up the slip. With wood/white glue you have more time to make adjustments. Last edited by neoz; 12-17-2014 at 05:37 AM. |
