Default Why do Universal Blu-rays have no "RESUME" feature?

You stop the blu-ray for whatever reason and you come back an hour later and press play and you need to go through the entire copyright bull crap and logos and then you need to skip chapters to find where you were. Why don't they have a resume feature like Criterion for example where they'll ask you if you want to resume playback from the last position? You'd think that Universal would have fixed this by now. I'm talking about the DEER HUNTER blu-ray and I tried the bookmark feature and it didn't work.
