Immortal (Immortel: Ad Vitam) (2004) German Release - Blu-ray Forum

Has anyone compared the German release with the US one? I'd like to pick up the German one. Amazon.de have some screenshots and they look far superior to the US captures but obviously they may not be authentic BD captures, they may just be promotional stills (they look pretty good, so I'm not sure why the US release looks average).

Any insight on releases would be appreciated. I'm region B locked so if anyone has a European version that's superior to the US one and is English friendly, please advise, the US release I think is locked.

I haven't checked out the German blu-ray. However, I found the Japanese release of IMMORTAL superior to the US release. In fact, the US release looked quite bad on my system (Panasonic PT-AE2000 with 2 m screen) and seems to be an upconvert. The Japanese version is quite acceptable with better detail and better sound (the TrueHD track on the US blu-ray is reportedly screwed up).

Thanks. I picked up the 1-disc German release from a UK seller for a few pounds. It's used but if it's terrible I haven't spent too much and if it's great I can upgrade to the 2-disc release or look at the Japanese release.

I received the 1-disc release the other day, haven't gone through all of it yet but its video quality is pretty terrible, it looks like an upscale.
