Check the firewall of your router.

Wired. No fire wall. Rebooted.. I heard you need to add your routers IP since it comes up as zero, when doing it automatic.. Where can I find that on my computer?

Just call the maker of your router, they'll help you

What router are you using? I use Linksys and when I write an IP address on the web browser it takes me to the router's settings.

I think if hes using a different service wouldn't he want to reconfigure your settings on the PS3? I was using the neighbors wireless for the PS3, but the signal is so weak I just bought a switcher and hooked it up through my home network.
I used to use a wireless router but they were such a pain so I hardwired the house with wall jacks and all, best 4 hours I spent as now all the bedrooms have lan jacks and I have had no connection issues

to get your routers ip do this:

Start> Run> CMD at the command prompt type 'ipconfig' (no quotes) look for the default gateway IP address, that is your router/switch... however you don't want to add that as you're IP... I would suggest if you want to do it Manually enter an IP of 192.168.1.100, and a Subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 (I think) The 192.XXX.X.XXX is the typical IP Address and assigned by DHCP so I would think this would work... I'm a lil rusty on subnetting, and networking so I'm not sure. But that may work... good luck

My PS3 used to do this all the time.

As best as I can tell in spite of the fact that I have it set up for DHCP it tries to take its old IP number when I turn it back on, and as a result if any other DHCP device has taken it's place it causes it to conflict.

I solved this by giving my PS3 a permanent IP, but it's a really lame issue, even more lame that they try to pass it off as a router issue.

Yeah.. I just don't get why changing to comcast would mess it up.. I can get online with my PC easily. I try your suggestions. I'm using a net gear router.
