Thumbs up Movies that can finish HD DVD 4EVA

name some movies that can finish HD DVD 4eva these r the ones that i think
STAR WARS (fox wohoooooooooo)
Godfather movies
The Good The Bad And The Ugly
The Matrix Movies
LOTR movies (not a big fan)

if these movies come out before the holiday season then i don't think any HDnewcomer would be dumb enough not to buy a BD player

I would like FOX to release The Alien quadrilogy

But I don't think these old movies will finish HD-DVD. I think new exclusive titles like Spider-Man 3, POTC 3......

Blu-ray Blockbusters 2007:

Pirates of the Caribbean 3
Spider-Man 3
Die Hard 4
Fantastic Four - Rise of the silver surfer
Ratatouille
Bridge to Terabithia
The Simpsons Movie
Sunshine

HD-DVD Blockbusters 2007:

The Bourne Ultimatum
Evan Almighty

Anything with the name "Star Wars" in it can finish the format war at any time.

Cool

Pretty much every major motion picture(big moneymakers) that's in theatres now will be out on blu-ray before Xmas. I predict POTC 3 and Spiderman 3 will be the last two nails in hd-dvd's coffin.

Lucasfilm own it rights over 20th Century Fox on Star Wars Series. So, it is up to Lucasfilm and George Lucas not 20th Century Fox, but 20 Century Fox can put some pressure on Lucas to release them. Thus how it got released on DVD 3 year ago.

Lucas is in control and won't release them until he sees fit. However the pressure from Fox will almost certainly keep him confined to the blu-ray side IF he agrees to release them.

Let's not forgot Spiderman 1 & 2 which are not out on BD yet. On their own they would create a big week for blu-ray.

Yes. Lucasfilm is brand name for Lucas as they are in control. Lucas created his own film name Lucasfilm back in old day.

Also Star Wars fans put some pressure on him. But He was able to handle it and hold it longer despite pressure. Remember, Lucas wanted to have his own control over Star Wars saga not 20th Century Fox. So, when I watch Star Wars celebration 30th year on G4tv, all I see logo is Lucasfilm LTD emarked when showing some scenes from movies, none of them are 20th Century Fox.

But it is not likey to be release anytime soon. No matter how much pressure is on Lucas and his company Lucasfilm. But it is own by Lucasfilm(George Lucas) and release through 20th Century Fox.

I think american pie is Universal Studios.
And harry potter, lord of the rings, batman series would be on both.
Star wars would be a major blow to HD-DVD if it ever gets released.

The Star Wars trilogies (both of 'em, but I'll only buy the original if it's THE ORIGINAL, and not the "SE" versions).
The Matrix (I only care about watching the first one, though I'd probably buy the other two or a box set just 'cause...and my kids like 'em).
Batman Begins
Batman (Tim Burton's original w/Michael Keaton; the other three in that series blow goats).
Spider-Man trilogy (box set, seperate, whatever...I'll own 'em, they're awesome).
Lord of the Rings trilogy (the extended editions would be the bomb and I'd probably have an aneurysm from the excitement!).
Nightmare on Elm Street (just the first one).
Harry Potter and the all of them
Lots of others, I'm sure...

Star Wars is the only one that could single handedly beat HD DVD. The others would help quite a bit. Star Wars is the only saga where you would see a good chunk of people go out get the player and the movies simply because it is a new version of Star Wars. Every time Lucas releases a version it sells millions and true fans (there are tons of them) are not going to miss out simply because they don't have the right equipment. they will give an arm and a leg to see it in Full HD. BTW a recent survey indicated that Star Wars is the most watched movie amongst men and the 2nd most amongst women. The woman stat is just incredible. Obviously the saga is the most watched set of movies of all time.
