Default TVersity Question - XP Pro need to be logged in?

Hi folks - sorry if this is a repeat, but all of the TVersity threads I've seen seem to be about firewalls and getting the PS3 to see the server.

I have a very basic question that I can't find an answer to...

When you are running TVersity on your PC (I am going to use on XP Pro) - do you need to leave the machine logged on, or will it run in the background as a system process?

We have 2 or 3 user ID's set up on the machine, and its not clear to me if one has to stay logged in and running TVersity or not.

Thanks in advance...

TVersity runs as a service under Windows XP (check the Settings tab and make sure it allows it to automatically start when the computer starts up).

You shouldn't need to be logged in for it to function.

It depends on how you have it configured. I have mine set up so it will not automatically launch because i rarely stream stuff. so, i have to log in to start the service.

Are you setting the service to be a manual startup inside Admin Tools -> Services, or is that configured elsewhere.

I have two PS3's and I want to be able to stream our mp3 collection to the one downstairs - so will want the service on all the time, but don't want to be logged in. Sounds to me based on the first reply, that is the default method.

Just curious where you made that change.

Thanks for answering - both of your posts are helpful, and I'll be doing this tonight.

Here. I outlined the setting in red for emphasis.
