Thumbs down Harry Potter on HD-DVD already

on hidefdigest this is what i found i don't know if iam a bit slow but guess what warner did it again this time outside the US, although iam not a big fan of harry potter i thought the 4th one looked alright and would've been on my list

It's been out for a long time now. I think over 7 months. I've had it since February. Warner will probably release the first 4 movies this holiday season on both formats.

They said at CES that the Harry Potter series will be released in hi-def this year and on both formats. My guess is that it will be sometime near the day-and-date release of Order of the Phoenix, which, given the recent turnaround times of theater->DVD, we're looking at December.

Yes. Certain disks have had playback issues in certain players. I would check AVS for those threads.

Don't bother, it's piled with language tracks that seriously compromise the PQ on such a long movie, there's a lot of artifacting.

The new releases are all going to be fresh encodes.

I watched it the other day at a friends house, it is not that great looking and disapointment will be abound once it hits Blu Ray.
