Default Cheapest but best 1080p larger than 42"???

so I'm looking for a new tv but am kind of on a budget. I want to purchase a 42" or larger HDTV with 1080p and 120hz... What prices am I looking at? And where can I buy them. My budget is right around $1500 and would prefer to stay around there or lower? Is it possible to spend that much and have the 120hz?

Edit: forget the 120hz thing. How about best hdtv under 1500... But larger than 42".

Just curious, but why wouldn't you put the overall quality of the TV ahead of the 120Hz gimmick?

The 60Hz LED from Samsung smashed all the 120Hz LCD's in terms of motion resolution, which is what the 120Hz is supposed to help with.

Any Panasonic plasmas clean up where motion resolution is concerned, scoring a minimum of 900/1080. Most LCD's score around 600/1080. The Sammy LED scored 850/1080.

I was gonna ask this too... there are plenty of TVs out there, such as plasmas that will give you a better picture without 120Hz...

For example the Panasonic TH-42PZ800 can be had for about $200 more than the OP's budget and is a far better TV than any 120Hz LCD

Default how about forget a budget 1080P and get a superb 768P?

thats a better choice. Get a superb 720P set that will put your budget 1080P to shame (it really can)

Well I don't think you're going to get a straight answer from some people here. I don't have the right answer either but I can tell you that I am happy with the Phillips 42" 1080p Lcd Tv I purchased a few months ago from costco. Hope this helps.

Check out the TH-46PZ85U it's a 46" 1080p Viera plasma from Panasonic.
http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-Vier...6681769&sr=8-2

$1,500 shipped.

Browse the reviews on pretty much any AV website - it's a top tier television for sure at a fantastic price.

Those are awesome sets. I would love to have gotten one, but with my young kiddos I went with an LCD.

Sony W4100 I think, toshiba makes a 5:5 120hz one too but I don't know how much it costs probably not worth buying though. I would rather have a panny plasma too for the record.
