Well, your review has re-invigorated my urge to see it. But at this point I'm sort of waiting for it to arrive on Netflix/HBO.

Glad you liked it.

I was lucky enough to attend a screening and the film really is great, I hope it finds an audience via VOD (though I would prefer this to happen through Blu-ray!).

I thought it was one of the best of the year. Shocked by the low critic reviews though.

Thumbs up

I really liked it. Worth seeing for Aniston's performance alone. She was great. So was Adriana Barraza. I thought Sam Worthington was charming in it as well.

8/10 (B+)

I didn't expect much, but this was surprisingly entertaining. Aniston is as good as advertised.

Seems like everyone here is enjoying it more than the critics.

Wow - Jennifer Aniston actually made a movie that required her to act versus a BS comedy or rom-com? Holy freegin crap. Im sure she isnt that good in it but anything is better than what you usually get out of her acting-wise which is ZERO.

Great.

If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all

How can you be "sure she isn't that good in it"? She may not be Meryl Streep, but she's done some solid work. Have you seen The Good Girl?

Aniston was pretty good in this but the movie felt like something that should be on Lifetime. Just didn't get into it, way too over dramatic for me.

You do realize that you need to act in rom-coms (no matter how much I generally dislike them) too, right?

Just saw Cake with the wife.
Jennifer Aniston was remarkable in her portrayal of a depressed, chronic pain sufferer. She really hit it on the nail with her performance.

Difficult film to watch, as my wife is a chronic pain sufferer for many years and
I take care of her in much the same way Consuelo does in the film.
I understand that there are some amazing performances in the Best Actress category this year, but Aniston should've easily been nominated for the role of her lifetime, so far!

P.S. If there's anything remotely close to this showing on the Lifetime channel, I'm gonna have to start paying attention to that channel!!

The Good Girl and Aniston's performance were really underrated, I'd be interested in checking this one out.
