Default TCM Classic Film Festival 2015

I'm thinking about going to the TCM film festival this year (in March), but not sure if it's worth it as I'd be traveling practically cross country to get there ... and I'd be going by myself. Has anybody ever attended one? If so, would you like to share anything about the experience? Thank you.

(bump)

Anybody?

I did notice that they canceled Spartacus, which is one of the films I really wanted to see on the big screen. And while that's a bummer, on the positive side, they added Ann-Margret to the list of guests making an appearance.

IMO is a bit pricey for 3 days the cheapest ticket works out to $100 a day roughly
I guess they have to pay for their guests someone
I for one would LOVE to meet Ann Margaret

Thanks for the responses. I'm leaning more on not going than going. But then again, never say never.

Like PLG1962 says, it can get real pricey. If I went, I'd be going for at least the Classic Pass at $599 which includes Club TCM events, panels and poolside screenings (which is I think what Ann-Margret is partaking in), among other activities. But when you add on the price of a hotel and transportation to get there and back (along with transportation to get around in LA) ... as a conservative guess, the price probably triples. That's a long way to go and a lot of money to basically sit in a theater watching movies by myself, ya know?

There are other film festivals that go on closer to where I live ... although it's very cold in my area of the country (WI) and going to a festival in Los Angeles this time of year would be a nice, warm getaway (which is what got me started on the idea in the first place).

You have to think of it as an LA vacation with a stop at a movie festival. There are many things to do in LA to justify the trip, not all costing tons of money. Just a thought

Very true! That's a great way to look at it. (More food for thought).
