Once this wave of summer movies hits Blu-ray, it will be the beginning of the end.

if these movies come out before the holiday season then i don't think any HDnewcomer would be dumb enough not to buy a BD player
LOTR is enough. None of the moviez listed would gather the support that LOTR would.

Not true. Im a star war fan 1st. But the kids today isnt from our time, and LOTR is the movie that impacted them, not Starwars.

Starwars impacted out generation. Not this 1.

Even the HD DVD zealots believe this, so unfortunately THAT is why it will be so difficult to occur.

It would be an admission of defeat by Universal. And to occur, it would be one that its allies couldn't stop. I can't see that occuring this year. Universal will give HD DVD 2007 to show it can turn things around.

Die Hard 1 2 3
Aliens 1 2 3 4
Jurrasic Park 1 2 3
Harry Potter 1 2 3 4 X X X X X X X X X X X X X ?
LOTR 1 2 3

The true "Classics" right there would end it. I would buy every single one if it came out tomorrow - I would need a loan - but I would buy them.

I love Harry Potter. Can't wait to see it in Hi Def.

Ok.. I could not remember how many movies/books there were and what not. Have not watched any HP movies in a while.

Call me crazy, but it's sad to see Harry in the first movie so young and then see him in the subsiquent movies getting older. Really shows just how long ago the movie was made. Yet, it doesn't seem that long ago.

Time flys

Jodi's HD-DUD "Death List" (aka movies that will sink HD-DUD 4eva):

Spider-Man movies
Pirates of the Caribbean movies
Disney/Pixar movies (all of them, please)
Disney animated films, both classic and modern
Fantastic Four movies (it's CLOBBERIN' time!!)
X-Men movies
LOTR movies (especially IF New Line chooses to go Blu and Blu only)
Star Wars movies can help do the trick
The Simpsons Movie (of course, it's from Fox)
Kill Bill movies

Jodi

Jurassic Park, while I agree, I want it in High-Def, is unfortunately Universal.

Blu-rays to wipe out HD-DVD?

I know it wont be out for a while but, Star Wars. The day that is out is the day the war is over.

In the mean time though Disney could help by releasing:
Lion King
Aladdin
Finding Nemo
Incredibles
Toy Story 1 and 2
Kill Bill 1 and 2
Pulp Fiction
Sin City
Lost Seasons 1-3
Who Framed Roger Rabbit?
Nightmare Before Christmas
Gangs of New York

Fox:
Alien 1-4
24 Seasons 1-? (Dont watch the show)
Mr and Mrs Smith
Independence Day
Fight Club
X-Men 1 and 2
Moulin Rouge

Sony, MGM, United Artist:
Lawrence of Arabia
Ghostbusters
Close Encounters of the Third Kind
The DaVinci Code
James Bond Series
Clash of the Titans
Silence of the Lambs

If George Lucas will stop wearing his ass for a hat and work with Fox to release the Star Wars saga, it will be a wrap for HD-DVD

Well, I must say that I am surprised that Fox hasn't announced the Die hard movies since Live free or Die Hard is hitting theaters later this month.
