denon 3800bdci "where r the reviews" - Blu-ray Forum

Does anyone know if or why there are no reviews in the Major audio/video publications regarding the denon 3800bdci ? I own one and and very happy with it. I am just curious what the pros think of it ...... ty.....

I don't believe I've seen any professional reviews yet. Mostly user reviews on various forums.

They really don't seem to have sent out any review players... no idea why. If I had to guess, I would bet they don't want the inevitable $2000 Denon player vs. $400 PS3 comparison to appear in every magazine out there. With all the focus on special features, player profiles, etc, they may get some reviews that they don't care for based on price/performance ratio rather than purely on video, audio, and build quality. Glad you like it, though... it is a fantastic machine. I'm waiting on final specs and price for Denon's upcoming high end "universal" Blu-ray player with SACD and DVD-A playback before deciding on a standalone to replace my PS3 as primary Blu-ray player.

I imagine once the new Pioneer Elite comes out, some magazines will try to do shootouts between that, the Denon, and the Panasonic BD50.
