Are Blu-rays region free? - Blu-ray Forum

Hi

I live in the UK and want to buy step up 2 on bluray but i can get it from amazon but im afraid of it being usa region and it will not be able to play on my ps3 in UK
Will it work?

No it won't work. Blu Ray is divided into 3 regions A, B and C. North America is region A, i think you guys are region B.

Most Blu Ray's from the US of A actually do play over here. Only Fox titles don't. All of them. Some Sony, Lionsgate and MGM are coded too. The rest is codefree. I buy most of my BD's in the US too because they are way cheaper. But the list mentioned above is pretty good. Always consult it before ordering something. And don't trust what amazon says. They sometimes say US Only when it's actually codefree..

Too many are region blocked. I hate region blocks so much.
