Bryan Singer to produce Warner Bros Super Hero movie CAPESHOOTERS - Blu-ray Forum

Warner Bros. has acquired "Capeshooters," a comic book adaptation that will be produced by Bryan Singer's WB-based Bad Hat Harry banner.

Singer, who has directed films about virtuous superheroes with the first two "X-Men," "X2" and "Superman Returns," is interested in exploring the darker side of the subject. He will only be producer on the project.

In "Capeshooters," two slackers become paparazzi who specialize in shooting covert videos of superheroes find themselves on the run after they stumble onto evidence that a revered superhero is actually a villain.

J.P. Lavin and Chad Damiani will write the script.

The project is based on an upcoming comic creation by Rob Liefeld, the former Marvel Comics artist who left to become co-founder of Image Comics. BHH's Alex Garcia will be executive producer.

This is a WTF moment for me. With WB owning DC and having so many characters at their disposal, why do a movie about something not even created yet (no fan base)?! The premise doesn't even sound appealing.

Those little off-shoot WTF comics can be pretty damn good sometimes.

I was never a big fan of Liefeld. If the story/premise sounded a little better I might be a little excited.

On a side note, I wonder if Singers duties on this will keep him away from working on Superman.

WARNER BROS!!! LISTEN TO ME!!! LIGHT A FIRE UNDER SINGER'S ASS IN GETTING THE PRE-PRODUCTION DONE ON 'SUPERMAN: THE MAN OF STEEL' BEFORE GIVING HIM THIS RESPONSIBILITY!!!
