Default HDMI - Please help

I'm getting my 1st Blu-Ray Player the Sony BDP-S300 and I've never used HDMI cables before-is there one kind that is better than another-this might be a stupid question but I've never done this before.

Just use monoprice.com and you'll be fine. There are a number of threads where people talk about the high priced cables so do a search and you can get more info on the subject.

Unless you're doing a long run like to an overhead projector, you do not need the high priced Monster cables. Any generic hdmi cable will work and since the signal is digital, cable quality will not affect what you see unless you have a very electrically noisy environment or a long cable run.

I would add something, but there's not much more to say.

I don't like monster anyways. The videogame cables I used to buy from them usually went bad pretty fast.

If the cable you need is less than 2m, a $10 cable will do just fine.
