Rodriguez will not be directing the film due to other commitments, but has promised to be a very 'hands-on' producer as he hands the reins over to director Douglas Aarniokoski, previously a second-unit director on films such as Resident Evil: Extinction and Once Upon A Time In Mexico, as well as the recently-completed Tekken.

Some sites say he will be a co-director.

The more Rodriguez is involved, the less likely that this will be as good as the original. Rodriguez, in my view, resorts to the goofy at the most inappropriate times, and runs too far with gags that aren't even worthwhile. Still, it will sell tickets, because Rodriguez has a significant cult following. A lot of people will see it just to see Rose McGowan showing skin. Not that anyone cares, but I won't see it.

I am glad to see Robert working on Red Sonja (I am a big Conan fan in general) but Rose is too skinny to play Red Sonja.. they should have beefed her up a little for the role.

No one is judging the movie or actors/actresses yet. We're just looking at the posters.

that perhaps she slept her way to the top. or maybe bottom in this case. personally i don't like rose and her personality is an absolute turn off. i don't think she can act to begin with, but her personality makes me not want to watch her or her movies even more.

Why are you judging a movie based on an actress's real-life personality? Her personality has nothing to do with the quality of the movie. You sound very superficial. Personally, I don't care who starred in a movie, as long as I'm interested in that movie I'll go and see it.

this is true, but from the posters it looks like softcore porn. and i haven't really cared for rose's acting at all. we'll see how it is when the trailer comes out.

I don't think Rose will ever be winning any oscars, but she seems to fit the role as a B-Movie bombshell with aplomb.
