Default The Admiral: Roaring Currents

Just saw that this came up for pre order on Amazon. Loved this movie, one of the best I saw last year. Anyone else hyped?
Here is my little review of it:
Terrible English title! The real title is just Myeongryang, which is simply the name of the famous battle the movie depicts. Admiral Yi holds off 300+ invading Japanese ships with only 12 (for real!) Korean ships. I’m not kidding when I say it has the best naval battles I have ever seen put on film. It also manages to do what so many war/action movies fail to do – it makes you care what happens during the crazy action. It doesn’t just setup characters for the first act and rely on noise/flash for the rest of the movie. It works plot and characterization into the action, the hallmark of a truly great war film. I will admit, the first act is a bit dis-jointed and basic, but acts two and three are so good they just catapult the film from the run of the mill first act to an 8/10 movie. Sure, some of the VFX aren’t up to American blockbuster 2014 CG standards, but when the action and characters surrounding them are this good, you don’t care. I would say this movie just shy of being as good as Red Cliff (the awesome 288 min version, not the crappy “abridged/international” cut)

Saw this at CGV when it was playing.
Didn't care for it very much. Might pick it up if it drops under $10 to give it another watch.
I'm actually really glad it wasn't part of the CJ collection.
I'm pretty sure I have every movie Choi Min-sik has been in and this one, by far, is the weakest he's done yet. Felt way too "Hollywood" for my taste.

Just noticed thatthe back of the case lists audio as Korean Dolby Digital. Is this correct? I really don't want to open it if it doesn't have Korean lossless audio.

Thank,
Tom

That's a misprint. It's in full Korean DTS-HD MA 5.1, Korean LPCM 2.0, English (dubbed) DTS-HD MA 5.1, and English (dubbed) LPCM 2.0.

I wish The Divine Move was in lossless. This is the same company that released this flick, too.

The back cover also says that this is 16:9, but the the blu ray.com site says it is 2.35:1 or 2.39:1, I've noticed the same thing on the back of the Saving General Yang disc

The KO release has more extras. The problem is that all of the features are in Korean without English subs. The feature is the only thing that has English subs.
