Default Star Wars: Who to Trust

Okay, this is completely hypothetical, but I just want some opinions of something i was talking about with a few friends.

Who would you trust more with upcoming Star Wars projects?

A. George Lucas

B. Kevin Smith and Seth Green (both are mega-Star Wars fans)

Poll will be up.

Kevin Smith and Seth Green. George doesnt know what the hell hes doing anymore. Hes replaced hard work for CGI and crappy writing. George can retire for all I care.

I'm not a fan of Star Wars, but George Lucas ruined the new Indiana Jones movie and I will not go near anything he touches.

I lost faith in Lucas after Phantom Menace. Star Wars has never been the same for me since.

I watched Phantom Menace. It had the fakest looking special effects I had ever seen, I felt like I was watching someone play a video game. I didn't even bother with the other two.

Alright Phantom Menance wasnt too heavy on the CGI like AOTC or ROTS. I take them for what they are you cant really compare them to the classics. Even George couldnt of topped those. The prequels were Star Wars for the new generation while still somewhat holding true to the originals.

I'd like to see episodes 7-9 in CGI. No not like this upcoming clone war movie that looks like a video game, but like Finanl Fantasy did. The original actors can do there voices and everything.

I thought Indy 4 was a turd and haven't really liked the SW prequels.

After watching the LotR's trilogy, I thought "George who?"

But how can I trust the input of the "Sith".

On a serious note, I love what Lucas has done on the "Original" trilogy and what he's done with the 3 new movies, esp. EP 3.

All 6 movies have pro's and cons but they are fun "kids" movies and I can't wait until all 6 are on BD.

nice.

if anybody knows too much about the history of sci-fi, they will quickly realize that George Lucas was heavily influenced by many, many previous sci-fi directors and other greats of story telling. hardly anything in Star Wars is original, its just a wonderful collection of great sci-fi ideas (im talking about the OT).

It's sci-fi ideas wrapped around Kurosawa's Hidden Fortress.

He also wrote a script for Superman that was eventually trashed. He has a great bit about the producer who was looking into it. Apparently the guy kept throwing these off the wall ideas at him, like giant mechanical spiders. Since he was working with him, Kevin Smith decided to see this movie that was released that the guy produced......

HAHAHA, yeah that bit was classic. Everyone should check out "an evening with kevin smith" there is a 2nd one as well. Back to topic at hand, I have to go with George on this one. While I have not been completely happy with all of his moves as of late, he is the creator of the Star Wars universe.

agreed. plus seth green isn't really that talented. sure robot chicken can be funny. but more often than not it can be really annoying. i like kevin smtih a whole lot, but he would not fit star wars. too big a movie for him. though i'd love for him to direct a comic book movie. he could a fantastic job and give nolan a real run for his money.
