Thumbs up MONSTER movies that need a Blu-ray treatment.

As a major fan of this great monster flicks I have decided that the following really call for a High Definition treatment. Who is with me?

1. Anaconda (1997) (Sony Pictures)
2. Godzilla (1997) (Sony Pictures)
3. Mimic (Buena Vista)
4. Deep Blue Sea (Warner Bros) Blu-ray & HD DVD

Wholly cow, these are not monster movies. These are "C" movies at best.

Examples of monster movies are Sin City, Pulp Fiction, Spiderman 1-3, Lord of the Rings trilogy, God Father, etc.

Given the state of things, I bet we'll see the movies from leofong09's "Monster List" before we see real monster movies.

^ I think the OP means monster as in monster (creature) movies, not monster (blockbuster) movies....

Not a big fan of any of those movies either.

The only one that was "decent" was Deep Blue Sea. Then again I think they picked some really bad actors with that. Good idea, terrible script.

Anaconda - the first one was stupid. I guess they didn't hear that when they made the second one.

I am sure some people would love to see the Alien movies on BLU-RAY with a high bit rate 50GB treatment.

Here is a list of a few horror movies I know many people would like.

Starship Troopers (Sony Pictures)
Evil dead trilogy
Mummy (Universal Studios)
Mummy Returns (Universal Studios)
Blair Witch (Lionsgate) in a 4:3 HDTV transfer to pressure the original ratio.
Blade trilogy (New Line Home Entertainment)
Hollow Man (Sony Pcitures)
Seven (New Line)
Hannibal (MGM)
The Thing (Universal Studios)
Final Destination trilogy (New Line)
Silence of the Lamb (MGM)
Abyss (20th Century Fox)
John Carpenter’s Vampires (Sony Pcitures)
Event Horizon (Paramount Pictures) I hated the movie but the sales figures are good.
Jaws (Universal Studios)
From Hell (20th Century Fox)
The Fog (MGM)
The Exorcist (Warner Bros)

Of course the definition of a horror film or monster movie can be debated.

I have to agree, all these are garbage.....bad scripts, bad acting, waste of time.......Pretty much anything Jennifer Lopez touches.....The best movie on this list is prolly Mimic and that aint saying much!

The only monster flicks I would really like to see are:

- Lake Placid (doesn't take itself too seriously, very entertaining)
- The Thing (a classic, unfortunately it's from Universal)
- Aliens (the second one)

Along with the pre-ordered 'The Host' (I only got this because I'm from Korea ) that would pretty much cover my hunger for monsters.

Unless you would call King Kong a monster movie

Yeah, Samuel Jackson was a great actor in that movie. The problem was, the script sucked so it made the whole thing look bad.

Even so, I still think its a half decent movie. Watched it numerous times.
