Fox has announced Horton Hears A Who! for a December 9th Blu-ray release date. The release will be on a BD-25 and include a 1080p AVC/MPEG-4 video transfer, and a 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track. It will also include a Bonus View feature, an Ice Age short, and many more special features. 39.98 MSRP. We will post the cover art soon!

I guess you'd be satisfied with lossy audio or a low bitrate encode as well....
Rambo was only 91 mins and it benefited well from a 50GB disc. I still stand by it, $40 is waaaay too much for a low bitrate encode crammed onto a 25GB disc. May as well get the DVD version of this one. |

My daughter's seen this movie twice now and loved it both times, so I think I'll be looking for this for a Christmas gift for her. Just got her Bee Movie for her B-day (see what I did there?) and she loved seeing it again. |

Blu-ray is about the highest possible home entertainment experience. When a disc is not utilized to its full potential, then the experience is only marginally better than a DVD. That was one of the main reasons HD-DVD lost, because it was only marginally better than a standard DVD. Regardless of how this movies looks or sounds (note: I never said it would be crap), it could definitely have benefited from a BD-50. I for one will not pay the typically high Fox price tag for a movie on a BD-25 but thats just my opinion.

guraenteed that this movie looks and sounds fantastic, despite only being on a BD25.
my gripe is with the price, not the content. and to whoever said it above, if they are chosing to charge that much it should always be for a BD50, i agree with you on that. only the absolute highest quality blus should yield that price. Last edited by stockstar1138; 07-28-2008 at 05:33 PM. |
