FFVII - Advent Children

i know a lot of people love this movie including me as it was a great continuation of the FFVII story but i have not heard many people complain quite frankly about the lousy PQ.

I was watching it on DVD today and was very dissapointed at the overall PQ in it's lack of sharpness on images even by DVD standards. The picture was the majority of the time looked to be blurred but always with the exception of certain bits at a couple of seconds.

I heard they were revising the picture and adding in some extra footage for the Blu-ray version, i hope this means they'll be giving the movie that sharpness and definition it is so desperately in need of IMHO to make it truly great.

I don't remember any problems with the PQ, from what I remember I thought it was pretty good. I guess I'll have to go back and watch it again just to make sure.

i think i might have to post screenies to show what i mean but it seems like an impossible task with my PS3 considering my PC is outta action for a bit

There were alot of scenes using soft lighting which made the picture look soft at times. probably at the artist's intent. But I'm sure the clarity will improve on blu-ray

That may be the point i'm trying to make, that this movie is almost completely soft and lacks the details it should have because its soft rather than sharp

This is the only movie I'll upgrade from DVD to blu-ray along with Lord of the Rings. I'm one of the biggest FFVII fanboys around and to me, this movie was like a dream come true. About the softness, I think it really was purposely done this way, but most scenes aren't soft so I hope we'll still be amazed by the PQ.

6 times as many pixels than DVD? Yeah, I think it will definitely improve. Maybe I should sell my DVD version right now.
