Question Total Recall (New Encode for UK....?)

Just like the new version of Terminator 2 Directors Cut which is coming to Blu-Ray in the UK next week it looks like the same company is releasing Total Recall.

I know the Region A version has been slated for poor picture quality, so I'm wondering if there will also be a new encode for this as well...?

Availability: This title will be released on August 4, 2008. Pre-order now! Dispatched from and sold by Amazon.co.uk.

Actors: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sharon Stone, Michael Ironside, Ronny Cox, Rachel Ticotin
Directors: Paul Verhoeven
Format: PAL
Number of discs: 1
Classification: 18
Studio: Optimum Home Entertainment
DVD Release Date: 4 Aug 2008
Run Time: 109 minutes

I have the HD DVD version from France (Studio Canal) PQ is much better, it's brithter and grainier than the Lionsgates version, but you can see a lot more detail. The HD DVD contained a DTS HD MA track , but was Pitched UP (never really bothered me, but did bother some)

U.K BD Review

Good news is we have the best AV presentation of the movie that doesn't seem to suffer from high pitch audio.
Bad news is there are no extras as announced earlier.

I think so, I've just ordered Total Recall, Terminator 2 and Cliffhanger on Blu-ray from Play.

Yes that is the one from Play.

However the cheapest is about £11.64 each and for today only from TheHut.com, they have a 10% off everything at the moment which finishes tonight.

A master has absolutely nothing to do with it being region locked.

And it's not the same master in that the audio was fixed.

Well, this is all good news. If they can do this here, they can surely do it for a re-release in the US! There's a handful of movies I'm willing to double-dib on and this is definitely one of them.

Yeah I really wish they hadn't dumped all the footage which got the film a X rating

you'd think Carolco would have released two versions the R-rated cut to the States (where MPAA ratings are applicable), and the uncensored version as the international version.

I just purchased this and T2, didn't even know they were available here in good quality. Its great to find out about movies on your own door step when you've been watching the prices in the USA for bargain basement due to the quality.
