I hoped this was coming. This is one of the true great sci-fi/horror drive in classics. Possibly the best "monster in space" movie ever (yes, I prefer it to Alien).

Some years ago, I scratchbuilt a model of the MARS-1 space ship. This ship was re-used in IT! THE TERROR FROM BEYOND SPACE. For this movie, they just photographed it in profile (and added some more windows) so that you couldn't see the wings. They wanted it to look like a tubular missile. But this is what the ship looks like (my 18" version):

Set in the distant future, astronauts fire a World War II bazooka at IT when it is only several feet away and emerging through a hatch from the deck below.

Wow, that looks great! All my attempts at models and the like turn out horrible.

OT: I've never seen this, but I love 50s sci-fi so I'll probably pick it up.

This is great news. MGM's DVD showed the film in an incorrect 1.33.1 open matte format, so it will be nice to have it in widescreen.

This is a great sci-fi/horror hybrid that was a major influence on Alien. Scary, suspenseful and smart. I'm assuming no extras?

They had no other choice after the Browning .45s and the hand grenades couldn't stop IT .
