Why does it take so long to get these movies onto DVD's and in Blu-Ray? Is The Dark Knight scheduled to be released on DVD on December 9th?

1. To maximize profits for the theatrical release.

2. Release close to xmas for some big, big xmas cash being spent on TDK for presents.

I usually back up noobies because I know that the search function here sucks. But I know typing in Dark Knight gives you a butt load of threads.

Hi,

This is just about spot on!

In fact after just 16 weeks from first day of theatrical start films can be put on sale for DVD or Blu ray it's part of the contract with cinemas. However xmas is always a good time to bring stuff out so this can mean longer waits or if they have other stuff coming out they need to push they will wait on big titles as it could crush sales on smaller titles

You don't even have to search, there's a thread on this exact same page. And I am sure there billions of others too.

Well sounds like you've just joined the living and didn't know how DVDs are released. The film came out what 2 weeks ago in theatres right? hmmm maybe it isn't scheduled to come out yet cause IT JUST GOT RELEASED IN THEATRES! the dvds usually come 6 months or so later. As long as you get it by Christmas I am sure you'll be thrilled.

Well not everybody, but last I saw there were either 4 or 5 pages of responses. Everyone said the same thing for some reason, which was "No." Apparently no one stopped to go "this guy only wanted to get a response out of everyone" or "this is this guy's personal fantasy because he's so excited about The Dark Knight that he needs to create a thread to share his excitement but not in a thread that was already created because he wants all the attention and those threads just aren't good enough."
