There needs to be some sort of love interest and so I think a catwoman character would be required for Batman 3. I like Depp as the Riddler too. I wouldn't mind Angelina Jolie as catwoman as long as she looks like she does in Beowulf.

Let Batman tackle both Riddler and Catwoman in Batman 3.

Did I misss something, is Tim Burton making the next Batman??? Johnny Depp is a horrible choice for the riddler!! it will never happen.

Get somebody new, and somebody that won't require half the film's budget for his salary. How many of you would have suggested Ledger as The Joker before DK was filmed? If you want big name actors to play Batman characters go see any of the Batman movies before 'Batman Begins.'

Computer animated? I would rather see Adriana Lima (I am not sure she can act, but she is well...Adriana Lima) Or Mila Kunis. They both have the best eyes for the role.

As far as personal speculation, I think the next film is the perfect opportunity to introduce the Catwoman character.

The Anthony Michael Hall rumor was just idiots running away with their fantasy crap when he was first announced in the film.
Riddler is Edward Nigma, that can not change so there is no "morphing" possible.

By actually reading the posts above yours, you will find that Burton is directing Depp as The Mad Hatter in an Alice in Wonderland movie.
Rumors of Depp's Batman involvement came from reporters covering that, Burton has nothing to do with any future Batman project.

I know Tim Burton isn't directing the new Batman, I was being sarcastic. Tim Burton directed the first two, and if he did one with the riddler I would imagine Depp would have been his first choice.

I think most of the stuff we are hearing is pure specualation and rumor at this point. With the Dark Knight hype and praise in fever pitch right now all anyone is talking about is the next one and who's gonna be in it, etc. I believe it has been stated before by Nolan that his universe would contain no penguin and I think he also said catwoman as well. Things could change however but I still think Dark Knight fever is bringing up all these rumors.

I know right. I'm really tired of these two doing every film together, but that's just my two cents. I watched Sweeny Todd--it was okay, definitely not a bad film, but not great either. I totally called the twist ending by the movie's halftime.

What I really respect about Nolan are his casting decisions in not going for the obvious choice but for an actor that fits the role the way he envisions it.

That's what I've liked about Nolan's Batman films so far. I think choosing such a huge media force such as Angelina Jolie would actually take away from the film. I like that Nolan chooses known actors/actresses, but none who are beyond-belief hugely famous. It gives them a chance to prove themselves and surprise us, plus the films also do wonders for the actors' careers. Christian Bale got even bigger with Batman--he's now in the new Terminator franchise. Cillian Murphy's career got jumpstarted from Batman and helped him land other roles. Heath would have been catapulted into superstardom after this if he was still alive. The only one who hasn't been helped much has been Katie Holmes, and well there's no helping her lack of talent and maddening marriage to Tom.

I actually agree with some others that Jim Carey would do a great job if he reprised his role, the Riddler with a "23" Carey to it would be great

but Johnny Depp would rock too

+1 for Ryan.

Depp would be as good as it gets with his talent, but he would probably steal the show, and it is about batman, not the other characters.
