This is in the trading forum rules-

e-bay linking to promote or pimp one's auction ("Hey! here's my e-bay store check my wares, it's awsome!") is self promotion and not allowed.

The first post of the thread you mentioned says-

I figured we could try this for the smaller ebay deals you guys find. please dont self promote your auctions or spam the forum with them This could be fun for all of us if we use it effectively.
