Explain your thoughts and reasons why? I'm curious.

Edit NM I see you made a comment on Caps. Night scenes on Arrows version look to warm.

This particular scene is throwing me off. Is this supossed to be nighttime?

I'm happy with the Warner release plus it has a good commentary. Cant justify a double dip since it's not a new master.

Does anyone know which framing the Netflix version uses? That's the version I'm used to so that's the one I want to get. I assume it's the same as the Warner release but don't have it to compare...

The Warner blu ray looks much better than the UK Netflix version. Would say either would be better than that.

That example is better on the Arrow version - but other examples are less consistent and makes the warner look better.

I already have the warner and am sticking with it, if you have neither than its a harder choice. Warner is cheaper so would go for that.. as mentioned before it needs a proper restoration.

On a different note - how is DTS-HD MA: English 1.0 supposed to work on a surround is system - is the sound just going to the center speaker correct?

I really wanted to import this title. It is one of my favorites from the 1970's and I know screen grabs shouldn't be the final say, but with caps a holic on this title I really can't say which version I'd rather watch. I honestly prefer the U.S. Warner Bros release since we get more image in the frame colors seem more saturated and I prefer that look, shocked the UK has so much that looks cropped in the frame. the UK has much more disc space but this is one example where I have to say it didn't really help!

but I will agree a new 4K remaster should have been done for both U.S. and UK releases. (even if if gets color timed badly) I cringe.

You're talking about the "old" MGM part of Network for US/Canada, He was talking about how United Artists owned the film in the UK. Different rights so United Artists logos might've appeared on UK prints of Netowork. The rights of this film are very confusing:

North America = "original" Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer = Library owned by Turner since '86 = Warner

International = United Artists = Merged with MGM = Modern-day MGM still owns most United Artists movies

With Arrow having deals with both WB and MGM now, this is one I can see them taking another crack at with a new restoration down the line. Let's hope that happens!
