Default what kind of buffer is needed for BD in PC Drives?

what kind of buffer is needed for BD in PC Drives? (for burning or even ripping)
Standard 2mb for high volume transfers seems sufficient for 4.7gb of DVD but what would it need for 25gb or more to run smoothly and quickly?
and would there need to be a much higher swap file for the Hard Drive or maybe a large amount of memory in the pc?
I know that to burn a DVD from an AVI file from a PC has become very easy to do but BD are Fast and have a high volume of space so I wonder what the General requirements for a BD burner would be.
