Default Paramount Developing 'Transformers' Multi-Part Sequel, Spinoffs

Quote:
Deadline brings word today that Paramount Pictures is hoping to emulate Lucasfilm’s plans for “Star Wars” with the development of spin-off films to their hit “Transformers” franchise. I Am Legend writer Akiva Goldsman will work with Michael Bay, Steven Spielberg, and Lorenzo di Bonaventura to create a “writer’s room,” the goal of which will be to develop ideas for a “multi-part Transformers sequel” and “potential spin-off films.”

The site reports that Goldsman won’t script any of the films but instead will provide oversight. He’ll find screenwriters and develop the movies they will write. They also note that despite director Michael Bay currently working on his Benghazi drama 13 Hours, he hopes to have the plans ready for a new film so that it can move forward soon after production on that film has completed.
Coming Soon

The 'Transformers Cinematic Universe' is upon us.

As much as I enjoy the Transformers movies there really needs to be a conclusion or at least an end game.

I do feel like it could continue but it would need a massive increase in quality.

I love the TF films and Transformers in general, but give me a break.

They really need to go a different direction, preferably away from Bay, Spielberg, and di Bonaventura.

They could end after the next film with
[Show spoiler]Optimus seeking revenge
and I think my hunger for anymore TF films would be sated.

I really don't see the point in Transformers spin-off films. It's not like the world they've created in these movies is anywhere near the Star Wars universe with its countless characters, multiple organizations, eras, planets, etc. in size and story potential. What would a TF spin-off even be about, that didn't involve the main characters from the first four films and justified it being a spin-off and not just another main installment?

can we just get back Megan Fox please? Shia I can take or leave, but Megan Fox was magnitudes better than either of the cardboard models they shoehorned into the last 2 films.

I'm packing up your "slap in the face" at the moment. It should be with you in approximately 15-29 days.

Although, saying that, Fox (TF1, TF2), Whitely (TF3), and Whatsherface (TF4) are all equally terrible.

And as for Shia LaBeouf, the less said about him, the better.
Mark Wahlberg wasn't any better.

On topic:
A Transformers Cinematic Universe is pointless.

Megan and Shia had great on-screen chemistry, way better than he had with Whitely.

Megan may not be the best actress in the world, but she is more than sufficient for Transformers. She also fits the world much better than the sanitized generic runway models that followed her.

Just do a Transformers/G.I. Joe Crossover. That's fine. There's no need for a shared universe with this...Just none at all.

Does anyone actually want this? It seems like "shared universe" has turned into a euphemism for "making a bunch of tangentially related BS movies no one asked for as a cash grab"? Though, I guess if it works...

I think a dinobots movie can work. Other that I don't know of anything spinoff people would want. Just make regular movies.

Just give me a movie where I won't hate it and feel dumber than usual and I am fine.
