Not gonna lie, when I read SSB, this is the first thing I thought of.

I love the regular release's cover more than the steelbook or other exclusives.

Why couldn't the flag cover been the steelbook? I would have gotten it without a doubt.

Will this BLUFANS release get a full slip or something like that?

Like other OAB releases, the steelbook should get a Blufans exclusive slipcover.

International audiences would probably prefer this to the flag. Obvious reasons.

This would make an amazing cover. I dont see anything being wrong with the American flag being on the cover, the name of the movie is "American..."

While I would usually agree with you on this regarding the international audience, for a film titled "American Sniper", it seems a good candidate for a dose of flag-infused Americana.

For someone considering buying this particular release, I'd say most will buy it because they liked the film, not because of the steelbook art.

And the flag would definitely be more appealing - not because it's an American flag, but because the red and blue spot color would be more visually appealing than this washed out sepia artwork they've got going on. Not to mention many people have been poking fun at Bradley's expression.

Maybe the flag poster artwork will be on the slip?

I agree and I hope it is used on the actual slip.

Yes but most nations aren't that wrapped up in their own flag. Nothing wrong with it but most nations would find it distasteful. This one being Chinese it doesn't take a genius. I also think with the flag there it gives international audiences the wrong impression of what this film really is. Where as in the U.S it will help sell copies simply because that flags there.

I don't know if you get what I mean, serving in some of the places I have gives you a better impression of what I'm trying to get at above.

True that, but I guess i am weirder than most, when I see an American flag or French flag, it immediately draws my attention. Not dwelling too deep into the politics and what not, I see the flag of my country as a symbol of pride and history, how did we get here and who we are.

Or they can just put a huge eagle...that'd do.

Not wishing to be argumentative but American Sniper as a title works and the greyness. It fits well with the film. The colour and the flag being there I think are at odds of some of the themes running through the film.

Don't get me wrong I love war films and flag flying more than most but I just don't think it works here on so many levels.

I think the eagle could of been made to work very well here but that would require imagination beyond the original poster artists and we just didn't seem to get that in steels very often.
