WBShop Update Regarding WBshop.com

Just got this in my inbox...

Quote:
From: Warner Bros. <warnerbros@email-warnerbros.com>

Thank you for being our dedicated fans! We would like to share some news with you.

Ownership of the shops at wbshop.com, hobbitshop.com, harrypottershop.com, and shopdcentertainment.com (the "WB Shops") has been transferred to a separate company, Bolder Road LLC. The look and feel of the WB Shops will not change and Bolder Road will continue to offer the same great Warner Bros. products and special offers — and maybe some exciting new ones.

As part of this transfer, information collected at the WB Shops, including past purchases, will also be transferred to Bolder Road. Please check out the Bolder Road privacy policy and terms of use.

At Warner Bros., we will always value our relationship with you as fans of The Hobbit/Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, DC Entertainment, and other WB brands. If you have signed up to receive offers and updates about any of these brands, you will continue to receive them. We, of course, will continue to honor your marketing preferences and you can opt-out at any time by following "unsubscribe" instructions in our communications.

We'd also like your permission to keep a copy of your purchase history (including video titles) at the WB Shops so that we can continue to develop and offer products in line with our fans' interests. Please give your permission by clicking the button below.

By clicking "Confirm," I give Warner Bros. permission to keep information about my past purchases from the WB Shops.

That was out of nowhere. Don't think I'll be clicking "Confirm" at this time.

No confirm for me either. I haven't shopped from them in a long time. It looks like I'm probably done with them.

Thought it was going to be announcement they were closing shop when I got the email. They've been shit for like two years now (perhaps longer).

Something about this does not smell right. Why would Warner sell the distribution arm for their product to a separate company? This might just be a phishing scam. I am not clicking on the Confirm button.

It's not. Just go to the site and look at the bottom of any page.

Received that this morning as well.

The only time I have bought for them is when they had Harry Potter Hogwarts Collection for $62.xx or something like that.

I'm never clicking "accept."

It's not Warner in general, just the shops, which were run by a previous third party before this new one. It was the previous company who was compromised, why WBshop customers had their info stolen

I also got the email... also didn't click the Confirm button.

I might have bought something from WBShop... but if they are further distancing themselves from it, I have no desire or reason to follow it to another 3rd party.

I don't think they're distancing themselves from their own products. They simply switched vendors after their contract with a previous partner expired.

I also did not click "confirm" but I will not have an issue ordering from them until they give me one. With that said, since the credit card hack, I always use Paypal with the WBShop and I don't see that changing. My bigger concern is that the days of getting a decent price via coupons from the WBShop may be gone. Time will tell I suppose but it has been a while since I ordered from them. Although, I did place an order via the Warner Archive site before the closed up and merged with WBShop.
