No, they've been done by a bunch of companies - Media Hub (Dallas Buyers Club), UEK (Iron Man), Nova Media (a couple including Perfume), Contents Zone (The Pianist), etc.

Though it does seem that they have done quite a few recently (Eternal Sunshine, Memento, both Raids).

OMG the wife and I had this film figured out in about the first 20mins! Interesting idea, just wasn't real satisfied with the execution. I wonder if the source material works a little better?
