Default Bipoles or monopoles for rear surrounds?

I'm going to be sitting on a couch up against the wall with end tables on each side. The speakers will be about 3-4 feet away from me. I was told by Klipsch that the surrounds would be wasted as they fire 180 degrees in all directions, whereas the bookshelfs I could point at my listening area. Here is the layout of my place. I will be using the living room projecting on the far left wall in this image sitting on a couch opposite it. Wouldn't sound from the bipoles be lost to that hallway that leads to the bedroom since there is no wall there to bounce off of?

Here are the surrounds and bookshelfs I am considering: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/klipsch-...&skuId=6228085 http://www.bestbuy.com/site/klipsch-...&skuId=6833016

I have no experience with Bipole/Dipole speakers. I have direct radiating surround speakers in my room, which is open to a hallway and L-Shaped, and they fill the space nicely.

The sound isn't too localised or obvious where it's coming from?

It is completely ridiculous that Klipsch make di/bi-poles.

A horn loaded diffuse speaker...

Horn and diffuse are completely opposite goals.

It is like owning a Miata and a 15 passenger van.

No sooner than you'd take the van to drive by yourself on a beautiful sun drenched day...

You wouldn't take the Miata to pick up a weeks worth of groceries for a family of 15.

Klipsch makes di/bi-poles cause of stupid customers.(different take on the old adage..."nobody ever went broke underestimating consumer stupidy")

The ENTIRE point of horn loading is to narrow the angle of sound direction, thereby increasing efficiency.

So. A di/bi pole horn speaker is trying to create diffuse sound from two NARROW ANGLE horns...

You do the math.

It would be, that's if Klipsch made di or bi-pole speakers, but they don't.

It looks like klipsch refers to their bipole speakers as "wide dispersion sound technology". Same cabinet, facing different directions & firing in phase. A rose by another name...

I still don't understand how bipoles would not lose their effect to the hallway and open spaces in my room directly to the sides where they will be placed.

Buy em & try em. Best buy has a return policy. Grab both & keep the winner.

I'm buying them directly from Klipsch, they have to be shipped.

That is the rub with speakers that require walls to bounce sound from.

So you're saying I should go with monopoles?
