300 on my TV looked grainy, normal? - Blu-ray Forum

I bought the Blu Ray 300 off of Amazon. I thought that the picture would look really amazing, but when I play the movie it looks a little grainy (like the PS3 games Bad Company and Siren: Blood Curse which add the effect) as if it was standard definition, but maybe I am wrong. Is the movie supposed to look like this in Blu Ray?

I use a Samsung A550 46" LCD, PS3, HDMI cable.

yes unfortunately, on hd tv the grains are much more visible than on theatre screen

Alright thanks guys! I wasn't sure, Goodfellas was grainy too so I was concerned, but I know Goodfellas is grainy cause its an older movie.

i think that 300 had more of a sandy feel to it, not grainy... grainy is more like scratchy negatives or something...

i thought the sandy look was a good feel for 300

I wouldn't say it's grainy "because it's an older movie" because 2001, is a LOT older than Goodfellas, and it's REFERENCE quality in my book.....

Goodfellas is just a less-than-stellar transfer
